SERVETTE FCCF – FC ZÜRICH FRAUEN: THE CHAMPIONSHIP IS BACK

This Sunday at 4 p.m., Servette FCCF, leader of AWSL, receives its runner-up FC Zürich Frauen at La Fontenette for the resumption of the championship.

The last league game seems far away for the Garnets. It was December 3 and a 2-0 win over Yverdon. At the same time, Zürich got the better of Rapperswil with a similar score. Since then, Eric Sévérac’s players have been able to take a well-deserved break before returning to training in early January, first at La Fontenette for ten days and then near Alicante in Spain. A week punctuated by two daily training sessions and a friendly match against a formidable Hoffenheim team which ended in a score of 1 to 1.

Back in Switzerland, the residents of La Fontenette played a second friendly match. This time against Freiburg, also a resident of the Bundesliga. A hotly contested meeting during which the Servettiennes generally tied with Freiburg before finally losing 2 to 1.

Intense, daily preparation before resuming the season at full speed this February. The Garnets will first host FCZ before the international break and will host, for the quarter-finals of the Swiss Cup, Grasshopper on Sunday February 26 at La Fontenette at 4 p.m.
