FC SAINT-GALL – SERVETTE FCCF: THE RETURN OF THE CHAMPIONS

Servette FCCF is preparing to put its two titles won in 2024 back into play, but with one goal in mind: to keep the cups in Geneva! To do this, it will be necessary to go through the season step by step without burning its wings. The first deadline is this weekend with a first trip to St. Gallen (4 p.m.) as the opening of the championship!

José Barcala’s players have got back on track after a historic end to the season. Indeed, the team was able to celebrate their Swiss Cup – Championship double as it should be before enjoying a well-deserved vacation. After this rest phase, Servette FCCF returned to the field and began its preparation for the 2024-2025 season. A season that begins this Saturday in St. Gallen with a long trip for the first match of the AXA Women’s Super League. A first test at the national level that will be interesting to assess where the group is in this month of August.

If the team lost important executives this summer with the departures of Monica Mendes or Inès Pereira in particular, the arrivals make the squad even more competitive. The return home of Manon Rivelli (Guingamp), the signing of goalkeeper Tinja-Riikka Korpela (AS Roma), offensive assets Paloma Lazaro (Napoles) and Imène El Ghazouani (Sion), but also the arrival of Yenifer Gimenez (Villarreal) in the Geneva defense, arm the SFCCF for its many objectives.

The Servettiennes start the championship with two trips: to St. Gallen this Saturday, then to Rapperswil the following Saturday. We will have to wait until August 24 and the arrival of YB Frauen to see the Grenat in action in Geneva. Season subscriptions are also available!
