FC RAPPERSWIL-JONA – SERVETTE FCCF: THE CHAMPIONSHIP BACKS ITS RIGHTS
After a well-conducted first round, the Servettians return to competition with a trip to Rapperswil.
The Grenat had an excellent first round in the Axa Women’s Super League with 7 wins, 4 draws, and no defeats. The Genevans are neck and neck at the top of the Swiss rankings with their rivals from Zurich. The latter lead the way thanks to a better goal difference. Now it’s time for this second part of the season which promises to be rich in emotions.
The last match between the Genevoises and the Saint-Galloises gave rise to a fairly spectacular scenario. After just one minute and 30 seconds of play, Ana Jelencic was sent off, leaving her teammates at 10 for more than 90 minutes. More fear than harm, since the Grenat finally got the better of Rapperswil by winning 3-0 thanks to goals from Saoud, Korhonen in the first half and Mauron at the very end of the match.
The Grenat therefore begin 2024 with a trip before returning to Fontenette on February 17 for a tantalizing “remake” of the last Swiss Cup final against FC Saint-Gall at 3 p.m.
